The Humantay Lake tour was created for people who are nature lovers, enjoying a free day, or visitors who come to Cusco and do not have many days to visit some wonderful landscapes of the Flora and fauna, throughout our trip to the Laguna Humantay and the sacred mountain or sacred Apus as Salkantay.

Day 1: Brussels - Lima

Upon arrival you will be brought to your hotel by private transport. The hotel is situated in Miraflores, the most touristic area of Lima. It is a very safe area, you can easily go about to wine and dine.

2 or 3 star hotel/hostel of your choice:

Day 2: Lima City Tour

Pick up. The trip begins with a view over the Pucllana Pyramid. It is a beautiful ceremonial and archaeological centre built in 4 AD. The tour continues and will visit the new part of the city and the colonial part with the Plaza Mayor and the cathedral.

Free afternoon – tip: take a stroll along the coastline

Day 3: Lima - Paracas

At 6.30 am we will take the tourist bus to Paracas. The ride will take approximately 07:00am hrs. 

At the Paracas busstop you will be picked up and brought to your 2 star hotel: Brisas de la Bahia.

Day 4: Paracas - Ica - Huacachina

At 7.00 hrs in the morning you will board a boat, which will take you to the Ballestas isles. It is a unique nature reserve. Look out for seals, penguin, dolphins and tropical birds.

After the excursion you will be brought to Ica where you will be able to taste the Pisco Sour, an alcoholic cocktail of Peruvian origin that is typical of the cuisines from Chile and Peru and considered a South American classic.

In the afternoon you will be visiting the oasis of Huacachina, in the middle of the desert and surrounded by dunes. Optional a drive by Buggy or sandboarding. If you do not like this there will be a possibility to visit a Bodega. Afther we go to the hotel.

Day 5: Nacza - Lima

After breakfast you are scheduled to take the Cruzero bus to Nazca where you will board a small plane to fly over the famous Nazca lines. The lines are a series of large ancient geoglyphs in the Nazca desert. The figures resemble monkey, spider, mars man and hummingbird.

After the flight over the lines, you will be visiting the Chauchilla Cemetery. It is a cemetery that contains prehispanic mummified human remains and archeological artifacts. You will be brought back to your Hotel in Lima

Day 6: Lima - Cuzco

After breakfast you will be picked up and brought to the airport for your inland flight to Cuzco. A private transport will be waiting for you and will drive you to the Peru Quechua’s Lodge in Ollantaytambo, in the heart of the Sacred Inca valley.

Day 7: Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

After a picnic breakfast on one of the Inca terraces you will visit Ollantaytambo. It is the only village that brings you back into Inca times. Many streets and walls out that period remained and the people of the village are still living traditional.

The village is situated at an altitude of 2800 m and is the gate way to Machu Picchu
In the late afternoon you will be taking the Peru rail train to Aguas Calientes.

Day 8: Machu Picchu (full day) - Ollantaytambo

In Aguas Calientes you will take the bus to Machu Picchu. Together with a qualified guide you will walk in the 15th-century Inca citadel situated on a mountain ridge.

Tip: The toilets are situated at the entrance gate.

Optional you could visit the hot springs in the village.

You will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and stay overnight in the PQL lodge

Day 9: Ollantaytambo - Maras - Moray - Cuzco

After breakfast you will be visiting the Sacred Valley. Up to this date, salt is obtained in Maras. Further to Moray, the site contains unusual Inca ruins, mostly consisting of several terraced circular depressions.

After this visit you will leave for Cuzco via Pisaq. You will be able to take pictures on the way back. Stay overnight in Cuzco.

Day 10: Cuzco

Free morning to walk around or to visit some of the museums. Pick up at your hotel around 13.30hrs for a city trip. Cuzco is situated at 3310 m and is the ancient capital of the Inca. You will be visiting the famous ruins of Sacsayhuaman, it is a citadel on the northern outskirts of the city. The best-known zone of Sacsayhuaman includes its great plaza and its adjacent three massive terrace walls.

Continue to Tambomachay, this site consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and waterfalls that run through the terraced rocks. It is also known as a spa resort for the Inca. Overnight in Cuzco.

Day 11: Cuzco - Puno

Bus to Puno, departure from Cuzco is around 8:00am and arrival in Puno around 16:00 hrs. Stops during the trip are de church of Andahuaylillas (aka Sistine Chapel) and the ruins of Raqchi. After the lunch you will visit the Alpaca nursery La Raya and the museum of Pukara.

Stay overnight in Puno city hotel.

Day 12: Taquile - Titicaca

In Puno you drive to lake Titicaca, which is often called the “highest navigable lake” in the world, and board a boat to visit the manmade floating isles of the Uros . On the island Taquille time stood still. Overnight on one of the islands.

Day 13 : Amantani - Puno

Continue the boat trip to Amantani for a walk. Later return to Puno.

Day 14: Puno - Arequipa

Breakfast at the hotel. The tourist bus to Arequipa, is the second city of Peru, surrounded by three impressive volcanoes at an altitude of 2380m.

In the afternoon you will be visiting the Santa Catherina monastery, one of the finest colonial buildings. After the visit you will continue with a city tour which start at the Plaza de Armas. Onward to Carmen Alto, Yanahuara district and Cayma. You will also visit the Sabandia mill. Overnight in Arequipa hotel

Day 15 & 16: Colca Canyon - Arequipa

From the hotel in Arequipa you will drive to the nature reserve of Aguada Blanca where you could spot some vicuña. The vicuña is one of two wild South American camelids which live in the high alpine areas of the Andes, the other being the guanaco. It is a relative of the llama, and is now believed to be the wild ancestor of domesticated alpacas.

At the highest point of the road Arequipa – Chivay there is a lookout, which offers a beautiful view of the volcanoes. It is called the Mirador de los Andes. It is located at an altitude of 4910 meters above sea level. This is one of the highest places in South America. After lunch you will spend the afternoon at the thermal springs of Chivay.

On the way there are different little villages Yanque etc. There is a breath taking view over the Colca Canyon.

Day 17: Arequipa - Lima

You will be picked up and be driven to the airport for a flight to Lima and from there a connecting flight to Brussels or Amsterdam.

Arrival home.
